Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…apparently.
Depends on who that eye belongs to. It is true that real beauty comes from within, but let’s not be coy. I know, just as well as you do, that no one sees another on the street and does not judge them on what they look like on the outside. I learnt this the hard way. The day I decided to brave that vile world and step out onto the high street without my mask on. The number of people who stopped, starred, pointed at me. I just wanted to run away, hide and never to come out again. My confidence has sub zeroed now. I should have never listened to my friends, who told me that it was time to shy away from the world no longer. They told me that my face was just as worthy to be seen and accepted within that limbo void known as “normal”, just as much as the next person. My oppressors were right. I’m not beautiful. Beauty is not in my eye. The beholder cannot find it.
Btw, this is not a diss to Miss Minaj. But a simple statement to girls about the oppression in the world to have to wear makeup to feel confident.
