Here is the wikipedia definition of what an Anglophile is:
“An Anglophile is a person who is fond of English culture. Its antonym is Anglophobe.”
Here is my definition of what an Anglophile is:
“Someone who is proud and relieved to be British.”
But how can you be?, I hear you say…
What proper gets me hot under the collar is how African Americans can go around saying ‘I’m so proud to be an American’ yet I am not allowed to be proud to be British without sounding racially confused or like a typical freshy begging for a visa!
I am a self proclaimed Anglophile which means that I am a person who is very fond of English culture and admires it greatly. Tea pots, bad teeth…the lot! And you may think this strange just because I am not white (*cough*) excuse me, I mean caucasian…..(*shifty eyes*) and come from a Black Jamaican family…
But can I help the fact that I am proud to be a Brit? Proud to admit that I am a anglophile royalist? With a strong passion and strong knowledge for British history? Who likes a bloody good cup of tea?!
