When I was 8 years old, I had a crush on John Smith from ‘Pocahontas’.
Strange, I know. But I did not think it that strange to have a crush on a cartoon character at that age.
And it never happened again….
…until the other day.
Although, this time it isn’t a cartoon character, but a character from a book.
I recently read this book called “The Virgin’s Lover” by Philippa Gregory, and I think that I developed a crush on Robert Dudley.
O.M.G, I know!
In my defence, Robert Dudley was a real historical figure/person. Oh wait. But so was John Smith…
But!…he was reported to be like INCREDIBLY handsome!… No?
All I’m saying is that if I was around at Queen Elizabeth’s court, I would allow Lord Robert to have his wicked way with me.
I don’t know why, or where, this crush is came from…either from the saucy tale told by Gregory in this book…or maybe from the fact that I am a self confessed Tudor obsessive, idk.
Maybe something a little deeper?

So. 3 months since I lasted visited my blog.
If you’re an avid follower, apologies for the lack of blogging.
I am hoping to slowly get back into uploading little bits and bobs…so, stay tuned!

So, I have just heard…
Hugh Jackson revealed on the blue carpet of the “Real Steel” London premiere that he will be returning to the captial to star in a film adaptation of ‘Les Miserables’ (directed by Tom Hooper). He is to be staring alongside Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway & Geoffrey Rush…and I must admit that I am soooo excited!!
Not that I have seen the theatre production of Les Miserables (…I don’t even know how to pronounce it!) but the fact that there is to be a film staring a number of my favourites thespians, as well as being directed by the man who directed the multi-award winning film “The King’s Speech”, is just too good of a film to not watch!
I cannot wait! Eeeekkkkk!!
Hey guys!
I haven’t blogged in a while…and I do so sincerely apologise.
Just thought to myself to add something new to the list of blog-tacula things I blog about, and have decided to start blogging about film related news that I catch wind of, and which tickle my fancy ;)
So hold tight for THE ANGLOPHILE’S FILM NEWS!
Ciao x
So, as per usual, I decided to follow suit on twitter with the worldwide TT #20peopleidmarry, and thought to do a blog post about them and why I would marry ‘em…
So, let’s start…
Dwayne Johnson
WHY? Because from his interviews, he seems like a really funny guy! And I have always said that I would want my husband to be able to make me laugh from morning to night. And, not to bow my own trumpet…but I have been told that I am a pretty funny person myself. *wink* We could make a lil comedy duo! On top of that…he’s pretty peng! I wouldn’t kick him out of bed… Just sayin’…
Bradley Cooper
WHY? Lemme cut to the chase…the man is HOT.
Natalie Dormer
WHY? She’s beautiful. End of. Natural beauty. If I was a guy…
Jonathan Rhys Meyers
WHY? My kiddie crush from when I first saw Bend It Like Beckham aged 11. His accent is just beautiful! And he just has something about him that I find extremely intriguing and mysterious. He also played Henry VIII… #TudorOBSSESSED.
Henry VIII
WHY? Because he was Henry ‘the fucking don’ VIII! Although there is the fear that he may take my head off…*shrugs shoulders*…the man may name a boat after me!
Henry Cavill
WHY? Tudor fans…do you remember THAT s.e.x. scene from Season 1 Episode __? *raises eyebrows and looks away* His voice is just…divine! Deep. Sexaay!
Hugh Jackman
WHY? As JD would say…Hugh Jackman was Wolverine! The guy oozed animalistic sexiness! Oooh errr!
Angelina Jolie
WHY? She’s hot. Nothing much more to add. Her lips are beautiful too.
Tom from “The Apprentice”
WHY? He’s so sweet! He’s inventing chairs for people with back pain, and *cocky head shake* being the aspiring business entrepreneur that I am (*cough* Amateur Shorts – www.amateurshorts.co.uk) and a sufferer of chronic back pain…I love this guy! He’s cute too.
Halle Berry
WHY? Erm, excuse me?! Have you not seen that picture of Ms Berry on the beach (age 45)?! Wow.
James McAvoy
WHY? He’s not exactly my “type” (I like muscly athletic ripped men! *wink*) but he is such a great actor that I cannot help but fall in love with the dude in whatever role he plays on the big screen. #TeamUKTalent.
School Crush Number (?)
WHY? Because I had a high school crush on this dude and I needed a space to fill. Meh. Not so much now though…
Draco Malfoy
WHY? The hair just does it for me…HA! And I like a bad boy! ;)
Professor Snape/Alan Rickman
WHY? Same reason as above! And Alan Rickman’s voice is just…. *sighhhhhhhhh*
Ashley Banjo
WHY? I love a guy who can dance. And he’s got a cute face!
The girl I saw at Canning Town station
WHY? Didn’t see her face but, my goodness did she had a nice behind!
David O’Hara
WHY? I just love his voice and his accent! David O’Hara speaking French is like THE funniest thing EVER! :’D
Willy Monfret
WHY? When I saw this guy in Nicki Minaj’s video to ‘Right Thru Me’…I had to fan myself. Eeesshhhhhh! YES PLEASE!
Hans Zimmer
WHY? If you know me, you know my ♥ for OST music. The guy is a musical genius! If we married, we would have loads of creative little geniuses running around! Awh!
John Smith from “Pocahontas”
WHY? Idk.

Rise of the Planet of the British actors, more like.
One word…
EPIC!
It was good to see David Oyelowo, a black British actor in the lead role of this film. Even though he may have been playing a villain…I think it was the British accent. I don’t know what it is but Hollywood seems to typecast us Brit thesps and our accents as the antagonist. Not that I am complaining…I always love playing the villain!…it was refreshing to see a British actor of colour in a main role.
David, who came to my attention after playing “Gilbert” in the BBC TV adaptation of Andrea Levy’s ‘Small Island’, plays Steve Jacobs, the big boss of this Alzheimer’s curing organisation. I was surprised to see David in this film as I was not expecting to see him of all people in a Hollywood blockbuster at all. Not because of his acting talent, because he is a great actor…but because I did not known his career had taken THAT turn down THAT road so soon. He had been a bit quiet over this side of the pond, but I guess Rise of the Planet of the Apes explains that.
But to be honest, I was not expecting any of the Brit actors I saw to be in this film. I was shocked…yet happy to see these not so well known thesps (minus Tom Felton) in this Hollywood blockbuster. And I really do hope that this film gives them their well-deserved break. Always repping #TeamUKTalent.
I was so glad to see Freida Pinto in this film, and to hear that she has kept her natural accent in the film. Freida seems to be playing a British primatologist, yet if you listen well you can hear the hint of an Indian accent in her voice which just makes her accent sexy! Perfect time to be saying no homo? Ahh, what do I care?! ;) Ms Pinto plays James Franco’s love interest, much to my surprise (again!) It looks like the execs of this film really did cross boundaries by allowing Mr Oyelowo to be playing a central character, and Ms Pinto, regardless of her race, same with David, as the ‘eye candy’, if you will.
‘Tis was also great to see Tom Felton in a Hollywood blockbuster/anything not to do with Harry Potter. Despite the fact that as per usual he plays the **** in a film, Tom does a great job as Dodge. One thing that concerns me is the fact that film execs may now start to type cast him as the **** in every film he is offered. I for one would love to see Tom express his acting talent and range as I am sure he has a lot to give. A romantic drama tragedy perhaps?…‘tis would be rather interesting! I think there is so much within him dying to show off, and he just needs a time and opportunity to shine. One thing – Mr Felton does a decent American accent, considering the fact that he is so well spoken. #TeamUKTalent.
2 out of 3 of the Brit thesps in this film were villains (who died), and Freida didn’t get many lines, or much of a story, in the film which was a huge shame. I have seen her in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (as has 93% of the nation I am sure), and I think she is an absolutely brilliant actress! I thought that there would have been some sort of development or sub story on her character as a primatologist who has obviously come over to the States to work, but no. She was just there for the male gaze, I see. Oh well…at least it was refreshing to see a non-blonde haired blued eyed beauty as the love interest in this high budget film, where she didn’t have to do an American accent or even a *cough* poddy British accent. #TeamUKTalent.
One grand last note on the epic-ness of this film was the a-mazing CGI which must be credited. The detail to the FX, and the graphic designing of the computer generated apes, can only be described as MAGNIFICENT! So detailed, so realistic…down to such small and minor details like the flaring of the nostrils and the wind blowing between the hairs on Ceasar’s arms. Spine chilling!
10/10 for this film.

One word…
DISAPPOINTING.
After the hype (and the fact that it’s a Marvel film, and therefore MEANT to be EPIC!) …the film t’was a massive flop!
It was like I was watching the gameplay to a really cheesy action adventure game!
The CGI was extremely fake, and did not look well done at all. With their big budget you would think they could afford better CGI technicians (?!)
The FX was very disorientating. I felt dizzy watching the fight scenes. And it looked like every action scene was CGI-ed! Why?! What is the point in this?!
It seems that they decided to waste their money using on special effects every 30 seconds, rather than good technicians/technology, stunt co-ordinators, and/or fight scene choreographers!
And why did Miss Dormer only have one scene!? Call me biased (#TeamUKTalent) but her acting range and capability is worth more than a quick 2 minute scene! (…even though she does get to kiss the leading man…)
Overall, the film was a huge fail for me.
However, it did make money.
Job well done…I guess (?)
4 out of 10 stars.
I have now transferred all my posts to The Anglophile blog.
This is my ONLY blog. TudorLoser/ksmithjackson is getting DELETED.
Have a read…and enjoy!
Bless.

I know what you’re thinking
Standing here
A young youth
Dressed this way and talking like this
I must be the stereotype
A stereotype
There on a hype
And doing my own thing
I know that’s what you’re thinking
That I always have a hoody on my head
And carry a knife in the front pocket
Yeah…what? WHAT?
If you mess with me you know…I will spark you differently
You understand me blad?
You man…
Don’t hate…appreciate!
Appreciate the fact that my gang is providing your boy a family
But just make sure he don’t come from Dalston E8
Look at you man
Judging me
I bet you thought I was some next youth
Rolling deep
Cussing and swearing
Spiting on the street
You were ready to chastise me, weren’t you?
A young black male with no ambition
No drive or determination
Court cases here and there
A baby mamma or two
And some next sket on speed dial
You know what?
This ain’t me
Yes, I’m a young male
And I come from East London
But believe it or not…this ain’t me
I am a young man with ambition
To make something of my life and help others
Yeah my friends call me Shank
But it ain’t nothing but a pet name…not no gang name
Yeah I sometimes where Nike tick crepes and a hoody of my head
But clothes shouldn’t define you
It’s about what’s in here
That’s all that matters
But you all just like to stereotype…
Judge…
Label me…
Bring me down and get me into trouble
All because of your own troubled perceptions
Ready to find any little thing to blame me for
Did I really look suspicious to you lot?
I was just standing there like everyone else
Why me?
Why not him? Or him? Or him?!
Why me?
I know what you’re thinking
